Overview

To celebrate World Environment Day 2024, we invite you to an expert talk by the Cambridge University Botanic Garden followed by a tour of the Wolfson Gardens by Head Gardener Oscar Holgate.

World Environment Day, marked annually on the 5 June, is one of the largest global platforms for environmental outreach. 2024 will mark the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification. This year’s theme is Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience.

With 40% the planet’s land degraded according to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, join us to learn about the measures that both the Wolfson Gardens and the Botanic Gardens are taking to protect and revive ecosystems.

Access

This event will take place in the Combination Room on the first floor of our main building and in our College Gardens. 

The Combination Room has step-free access with a lift and our College Gardens have fully step-free access.

There is an accessible toilet located on the first floor of the building.
